About
My Story
I have never been a talented athlete. None of my success in sports has come through being physically gifted. Everything I achieved was done through learning about my sports, consistency and being deliberate in my training.
After years coaching kickboxers in large groups, I noticed a pattern: natural talent didn’t predict success, character did. The disciplined, consistent, humble learners progressed. That insight shaped my coaching: train the body, and train the traits, and the rest will follow.
As I studied and gained PT qualifications, I saw athletes self‑sabotage with fads and conflicting advice. I built Rebel Monk Fitness to provide a personal, science‑grounded alternative that adapts to a person’s life. Your programme is one piece of the puzzle; we help you fit the rest.
My Sports
I don’t ask clients to do what I wouldn’t. I've trained in combat sports as a kickboxer and amateur boxer, before moving into ultramarathon running. As of autumn 2025, I'm attempting to run the length of Japan.

Coaching Background
I have been coaching combat athletes since 2015, initially coaching the , before also coaching at Squared Circle Boxing Academy in Cambridge. I started doing personal training in 2020, initially online during the pandemic. I only take on a small number of PT clients at any time, so that I can make sure I have the energy and focus required to give them the support they need.
Coaching Philosophy:
- Personal > Generic - your plan fits your life.
- Evidence > Fads - methods that work in the real world.
- Mindset > Hype - honest, compassionate, accountabile.
